Father

A biographical poem, where my father is the subject. A take on a Japanese form, with a strict syllable count.

Stubborn as a fact.

Granddad, the spaceman, the spy,

the trickster. Driver

of buses, caravan park

vacationist, loyal red.

Unruffled like time.

Ex-smoker, transient sot:

hangover victim,

whose advice I cannot scorn.

Affable like a lap dog.
