Why I Write ‘Days That Matter’

It is often said that everybody has a book in them, but I don’t believe that. To be honest I think that most people struggle with the character limit set by twitter. I do believe however that I do. I have stories that I want to tell, and poetry I would like you to read, aloud.

I have been running my blog for approximately eighteen months, and when I started I wanted it to be a place to showcase everything that I am working on. And so that is exactly what it is, it is an ever burgeoning portfolio of my work. On here you will find mostly poetry, but examples also of essays, extracts of scripts I am working on, and short stories too. I advertise my books here, my two eBooks,‘Words’ and ‘Work: A Four Letter Word’, and attempt to generate some interest in what I do, in the hope thast one day I will be able to make a living from the craft of writing.

I have set myself few goals, there are no numbers that drive me. I hope for and work towards growth and appreciation in and from my audience respectively. However, I aim to remain focussed on what is important to me, and that is to hone my talent. I am student of creative writing. I practice, and here I post glimpses into my progress, I bare all for you. Some of the work I have posted here is not brilliant, I have to admit that to myself; but all of the work I have posted here sets points on what I hope is an upward trajectory.

I intend for you to see me grow into the writer that I believe I can be. And along the way I hope to engage with you, to learn what works and what does not. I am open to criticism. I invite you to join me on my journey, to question me, to test me, and perhaps even praise me.
